Our Heroes

Here are some of the local people who have helped us raise money for our adoption events - do a favor and visit, buy or "Like" them on Facebook, they deserve it!

Gorilla Graphics – every T-shirt we have comes from Gorilla Graphics and they have never asked for a dime. Our volunteers love the shirts and we do too - thank you GG!!

Whether you're looking for a great slice or hoping to support an amazing shelter dog adoption advocate, Frisco's Pizza in New Haven is the place to go. Frisco's donated pizza for our entire volunteer force for 2 days in a row- Thank you John!

Sweeties by Jenny – Jenny not only donates her handmade uber delicious chocolates to our fundraisers, she does her own fundraiser (the Puppy Crawl in Old Saybrook) and you'll see her running into our adoption evens with food for the many hungry volunteers – order her chocolates, you'll be in heaven.

Running for Rescues and It's the Pits – when we're not planning adoption events we're rescuing or fostering dogs for municipal pounds. Medical costs can be astronomical so enter these two non-profits with hearts as big as the moon - they've donated to help some of our serious medical cases and we couldn't rescue without them - donate to them - they're worth every cent!

Daisy Do and Dexter Too and Little Shop of Haute are two brillian women who make handmade items for your well dressed dog - of course they donate proceeds to help rescues so talk about a win-win - well dressed perma dog and saving homeless shelter dogs - score!

Swag, Sweet Luna's, Jack Rabbits and Penny Lane Pub
spend an afternoon on old main street in Old Saybrook and here is the schedule: shop at Swag, happy hour at Penny Lane, a burger at Jack Rabbits and frozen yogurt at Sweet Luna's - shop and eat well knowing all of these fine establishments donate to dog rescue and adoption events!!

Non-Profit Status

We are an incorporated, tax exempt, non-profit. All donations are tax deductible. Estimated costs for each event are about $3500 and funded only through community donations. Thank you for your support, together we can find homes for shelter dogs who deserve a better life.

About Us

DOG DAYS is coordinated by Dog Days Adoption Events, Inc. and community members and business people in the towns we visit. This event is open to any rescue or municipality who pulls dogs from high kill shelters. We're proud to live in the state of Connecticut – the greatest dog loving state in the US! Every event will have around 80 dogs: 40 small breeds and puppies and 40 large breed dogs to choose from. All dogs are vetted and up to date on all shots, spayed or neutered. We're always looking for a new town to have an event, let us know if that could be yours!

Join Our Events!

We're fortunate to have the best volunteer force around! Our Stars, Scouts, Site Team, Adoption Team, and General Volunteers work tirelessly to make sure each shelter dog that is placed finds a responsible and loving family. We're joined by volunteer dog trainers, groomers, and veterinarians to make it all happen- over 100 dogs were placed at this event, and some are being fostered until their perfect match is found. Please view our adoptable dogs to find the perfect fit for you.
